Meet the Artist
I have had a unique and varied art career spanning nearly 50 years. As a sculptor, painter, glass artist and custom saddle maker, I have spent a lifetime creating beautiful things. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, I come from a family of gifted artists and craftsmen. My mom was a talented painter and my father an exceptional craftsman and furniture maker.
Early on I apprenticed in a famous stained glass studio and went on to own my own company “Pacific Stained Glass.” My combined love of art and horses led me to start building custom hand carved western saddles. So, for over 30 years, I built beautiful saddles for some of the best riders and trainers in the country.
During this time, my husband and I purchased a large farm in eastern Washington, where we raised hay, cattle, horses, and kids for 25 years. Now retired from farming, Larry and I make our home on the rural Hamakua coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. Finally, I have time to return to my first love…painting. With time to dedicate to my artwork and surrounded by endless inspiration, I’m enjoying every day painting in my tiny studio overlooking the Pacific. Heaven!
My desire is to create art that will encourage, inspire, uplift. The world we live in can be a loud, confusing, stressful place. It is my singular goal to create art that is an oasis. I hope my paintings will allow the viewer, if only for a moment, to be transported to someplace beautiful. It is a lofty and humbling ambition, and it keeps me striving.
