A watercolor painting of our neighbor’s farmhouse in Monroe Washington. For over a hundred years it has perched snug and warm on top of a rise on High Bridge Road. That morning the snow was crunchy beneath my boots and the smell of woodsmoke drifted on the frozen air so I stopped in for a visit. Erskine's old farmhouse was always a warm haven on cold winter day.
